SMC Ltd is a 35 + year old pharmaceutical contract manufacturing and device services company that acquired the end-to-end aseptic fill/finish facility in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2024 to provide development, analysis, device manufacturing, filling, assembly and secondary packaging from laboratory to market. In September 2025, SMC signed a MoU with Credence MedSystems to install and validate clinical-scale GMP dual chamber filling equipment at the Charlotte, NC facility to support Credence's Sequential Liquid-Liquid DCS and Lyo-Liquid Reconstitution DCS (lyophilization-liquid reconstitution dual chamber system) products, with plans to expand to commercial scale. As a result, the SMC North American plant has the filling capacity of a dual-cavity resolving system.
