The Tesamorelin pen holds 3ml of solution across 300 units, so one unit on the dial equals 0.01ml. That works out at 3.33mg/ml Tesamorelin. About Tesamorelin
Where the evidence sits:
Tesamorelin is unusual in this range in having genuine clinical trial data behind it. It is approved by the FDA in the United States under the brand name Egrifta, for one narrow indication, the reduction of excess visceral fat in HIV-associated lipodystrophy. It holds
no MHRA or EMA marketing authorisation
. The European application was withdrawn in 2012 after the CHMP indicated the data did not support a positive benefit-risk balance. In the UK it is neither a licensed medicine nor a general use product, and it is supplied here strictly as a laboratory research chemical.
