The MT2 pen holds 2ml of solution across 200 units, so one unit on the dial equals 0.01ml. That works out at 5.00mg/ml MT2. As a worked example, 10 units is 0.10ml, containing 0.50mg MT2. About MT2
MT2, better known as Melanotan II, is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide: a seven amino acid ring structure built as an analogue of alpha melanocyte stimulating hormone, one of the body’s own signalling peptides. The cyclic lactam bridge is the point of the design, making the molecule far more stable and far longer lasting than the natural hormone it is modelled on.
Where the evidence sits:
Melanotan II itself has never completed clinical development and holds no medicines licence in the UK or anywhere else. Published literature includes case reports of darkening or changes in existing moles, nausea and flushing, and the MHRA has issued public warnings about unlicensed melanotan products being sold for cosmetic use. It is supplied here strictly as a laboratory research chemical.
